Wicked Bee Apiary was created to provide a refuge for honey bee colonies that would have otherwise been exterminated due to setting up their colonies in undesirable locations. Once relocated to the apiary, these colonies are rehabilitated into healthy, robust colonies that are allowed to thrive as nature intended.

Meet the Beekeeper…

John Swan is the owner of the Wicked Bee family of businesses, where he has managed over 200 honey bee colonies at his apiaries and out-yards throughout the years. From the hives at the apiary, John produces his unique line of Wicked Bee Honey products. Seeing a greater need to help honey bees, John created Wicked Bee Removal Service to help save honey bees from unnecessary eradication by providing live bee removal and relocation services when bees setup a colony in an undesirable location. To date, John has done over one thousand live bee removals during his career, effectively saving these feral colonies from extermination!

John is a certified Master Beekeeper, former Vice President and Director for the Texas Beekeeper's Association, and is also the Past President of the Travis County Beekeeper's Association in Texas. In 2021 John relocated from TX up into the Southern Ozarks where he continues to provide training and consultations for other beekeepers, hive management services, and honey bee sales.

When he isn't playing with his bees, or rescuing other bees, John is talking about bees as the host of The Hive Jive Beekeeping Podcast and helping educate people around the world about beekeeping, honeybees, pollinators, and their importance.
